4/27/2008Early this morning, 247 QRS was alerted to the Holiday Inn on McKnight Road for a fight with multiple injuries. The Engine crew worked with several police departments and Ross West View EMS to sort everything out and evaluate injuries.

Later in the afternoon, Ross West View EMS and West View Fire were alerted to Perry Highway for a vehicle crash with entrapment. Units arrived to find an SUV on its side with two people trapped. 247 QRS responded to assist with extrication and complete ambulance crews for transport.

Motorcycle Accident
4/23/2008Late this afternoon, a passing motorist stopped at the firehouse to report an accident just down the street. Within 90 seconds, 247E (Staffed with 2 Paramedics and 3 EMT's) arrived at Siebert Rd and Twin Oaks Dr to find one motorcyclist down in the street. The Engine crew assessed and packaged one patient that was transported to a trauma center by Ross West View EMS.

Car Into Macy's Furniture
4/17/2008This afternoon, units were alerted to Macy's Furniture store at Ross Park Mall for a vehicle into the building. 247E and DC arrived to find a vehicle into the building with structural damage. Companies were held to secure the scene and investigate an electrical odor throughout the store.

Training on Engine and Truck Company Operations
Berkeley Hills firefighters returned to the Ross Township training tower on Tuesday for training. This week firefighters conducted engine company training on advancing hose lines, hydrant operations, and pump operator operations. Firefighters also conducted truck company training on ladders and ladder truck operations.)

6 Injured in Head On Collision
4/15/2008Just before company training, 247 QRS was alerted to Thompson Run Road at Miller Road for a vehicle crash with unknown injuries. 247E and Rescue 40 arrived to find a head on collision with 6 injuries. The engine crew worked under EMS command to secure the vehicles, mitigate hazards, and package 6 patients, including several children.

Sprinkler System Contains Fire
4/12/2008In the evening, units were alerted to Ross Park Mall for a reported kitchen fire in the food court. While responding, Ross Park Mall Security confirmed a stove fire and sprinkler head activation. 247E and 247TK investigated to find the fire was contained, utilities controlled, and the immediate area evacuated. The assignment was held with Company 247, 248E, and 297TK to assist in removing water and checking potential electrical issues.
